1. Who you are dealing with
This website is operated by First Light Solar, a solar equipment and appliance supplier based at 91 General Hertzog Street, Dan Pienaar, Bloemfontein, 9301.
- Email: office@firstlight-solar.co.za
- WhatsApp: 062 431 1366
These terms are between you and First Light Solar (Pty) Ltd. VAT registration number 4410324141. [Company registration number — to be confirmed before launch.]
2. What this website is
It is a catalogue and an enquiry service. You cannot buy anything on it. Nothing shown here is an offer to sell — it is an invitation for you to ask us for a quote, and a sale only comes into existence when we issue a written quote and you accept it.
3. Prices
We do not publish prices. Solar equipment moves with the exchange rate, with import duty and with what a supplier will do on the day, and a price printed on a web page is out of date before it is useful. Every price is quoted in writing, is valid for the period stated on that quote, and excludes delivery unless the quote says otherwise. We are a VAT-registered vendor; each quote states whether the figures shown include or exclude VAT.
4. Product information
We try to describe stock accurately, but specifications, images and availability on this site are indicative. Panels, inverters and batteries are revised by their manufacturers without notice, and product photography is usually the manufacturer’s own. The specification that binds us is the one written on your quote.
If a technical detail matters to your design — a voltage window, a communication protocol, a certification — ask us to confirm it in writing before you order. We would far rather answer the question than replace the wrong inverter.
5. Availability
This site is a catalogue of what we supply, not a live inventory. We do not warehouse stock: equipment is ordered in from our suppliers for your order, and the quote we send you states the lead time to expect before you commit.
6. Installation
We supply equipment. We do not install it, and nothing on this site is installation, electrical or engineering advice.
Solar installations in South Africa must be carried out by a qualified person and issued with a Certificate of Compliance. Arranging that is the customer’s responsibility, and we accept no liability for installation work carried out on equipment we have supplied.
7. Using the site
You agree not to:
- submit the quote form automatically, in bulk, or with details that are not yours;
- scrape, copy or republish the catalogue for a competing catalogue; or
- attempt to interfere with the site, its hosting, or anyone else’s use of it.
We may block access where any of that is happening. If you have found a security flaw, please tell us rather than exploit it — see our security contact.
If you send us an idea, a suggestion or feedback about the site or our range, we may act on it without owing you anything for it. That does not apply to the details of your enquiry, which we treat as set out in the privacy notice. Please do not send us confidential information through this site.
8. Content and image credits
The design, written content and layout of this site belong to First Light Solar and its designers. Manufacturer names, logos and product images belong to those manufacturers and appear here only to identify the stock we carry. You may link to any page on this site freely.
Photography and video used for illustration is licensed from third parties and remains the property of its creators. The Bloemfontein cityscape is by South African Tourism, used under CC BY 2.0 and cropped and colour-graded for this site. Remaining photography and video is used under the Pixabay and Pexels content licences. Illustrative images do not depict our premises, our stock or work carried out by us.
9. Links to other sites
Where we link to a manufacturer or a datasheet, we do not control that site and we are not responsible for its content or its privacy practices.
10. Availability of the website
We aim to keep the site up and correct, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or withdraw any part of it without notice.
11. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website — for example lost profit, lost production, or the cost of a delay — including where a specification on this site turns out to be inaccurate. Our liability for equipment we actually supply is governed by the quote, the manufacturer’s warranty and the Consumer Protection Act, and nothing here limits any right you have under that Act or under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
12. Privacy
How we handle personal information is set out in our privacy notice.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update this page. The version that applies to you is the one published when you used the site, and the date at the top tells you which that is.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the courts of South Africa have jurisdiction.
